First Days at Yeshiva

Hello to all and to all a warm shalom!

I arrived safe and sound Tuesday morning very early, tired, and sweaty and took a Nesher to Har Nof. The yeshiva is located in a religious very American neighborhood in western Jerusalem not far from Yad Vashem. The first couple of days have been very interesting, fruitful, and eyeopening. The learning of course has been great as I have been introduced to subjects I did not have a good command of such as Gemora for example. Although it has been challenging not really knowing Hebrew but all in small steps I suppose. I have been regularly attending all of the daily minyanim and becoming much more comfortable with tefillah. I have a feeling that this will really help me before the Beit Din in Detroit when I return. There are alot of great and interesting guys at the program. However I have had some sour experiences. I really never realized how much racism and prejudice there was in the Jewish community. Moreover people here seem to have a strong dislike towards Modern Orthodox people which I do not appreciate seeing how I myself identify as Modern Orthodox and feel that I follow halacha as well as the guys who are so MO anti. Anywho I need to start getting ready for my first Yeshiva SHabbat! Shabbat Shalom !
